South Korea prepares for its largest AI summit to accelerate innovation and global integration
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) is spearheading a landmark event in the country’s artificial intelligence sector with the hosting of the 'AI Summit Seoul & Expo 2025'. Taking place from November 10 to 11 at COEX in Seoul, this event marks the first occasion where the existing AI Summit Seoul conference is integrated with a business-focused AI exhibition. Organised by DMK Global alongside KITA, it is expected to become the largest AI conference and exhibition ever held in South Korea, reflecting the nation’s growing emphasis on AI as a national strategic industry.
The event is structured to maximise both knowledge-sharing and business opportunities. The conference sessions will be held in the COEX Grand Ballroom, featuring 23 lectures from international and domestic AI experts. Among the headline speakers is Wen Sang, co-founder of the globally recognised AI agent ‘Genspark’, delivering his first-ever lecture in South Korea. Other notable speakers include Luc Julia, Chief Security Officer of Renault Group, and Cho Won-woo, the CEO of Microsoft Korea. These talks aim to provide insights into cutting-edge AI developments and their industrial applications.
Parallel to the conference, the exhibition in Hall B will showcase AI solutions from some of the world’s leading technology companies, including Google Cloud, KT, LG U+, IBM, Cisco, Notion, and Persona AI. This broad participation underscores the summit’s role as a comprehensive platform for AI innovation and commercialisation. A standout feature of the expo is the 'Business Connecting' programme, which is designed to facilitate over 250 business meetings between 35 AI companies and 55 domestic and international buyers, fostering strategic partnerships and accelerating market expansion.
To enhance practical value for attendees, the summit also includes tailored workshops and AI solution demo stages. These sessions focus on the hands-on application of AI technologies within real-world business environments, reinforcing the event’s commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical AI knowledge and implementable solutions.
This event arrives amid a broader national initiative to position South Korea as a dominant AI hub in Asia. Earlier in the year, Nvidia announced plans to supply over 260,000 advanced Blackwell AI chips to major South Korean corporations such as Samsung Electronics, SK Group, Hyundai, as well as government bodies. This influx of cutting-edge hardware is set to boost AI infrastructure development, particularly in smart factories and large-scale computing operations, aligning with the government’s strategy under President Lee Jae Myung to accelerate AI innovation and adoption.
Furthermore, the AI Summit Seoul & Expo complements other significant AI-related gatherings in South Korea, including the recent AIFEEX Seoul AI Summit which attracted over 5,000 professionals from 17 countries, and the upcoming International AI Standards Summit to be held in Seoul in December. These events collectively underscore South Korea’s ambition to lead in AI technology development, governance, and global cooperation.
The Korea International Trade Association expressed its commitment to supporting the AI industry’s growth, stating that the summit aims to be a representative global business platform driving domestic AI advancements. By integrating expert knowledge exchange, business matchmaking, and practical demonstrations, the event seeks to foster an ecosystem where AI technologies can thrive and directly contribute to industrial competitiveness.
As AI’s role in the global economy rapidly expands, South Korea’s strategic focus on events like the AI Summit Seoul & Expo 2025 highlights the importance of collaborative innovation and industrial application in sustaining technological leadership and economic growth.
