These are the Terms and Conditions for subscribing, joining and participating in the Association of Association Executives community.

1. INTRODUCTION

"AAE" (also "we," "us" or "our") refers to the Association of Association Executives (an unincorporated association managed by Professional Community Services Ltd) or its management company or its employees, contractors or agents

When you join the AAE as a "member" you are subscribing to services and joining a community. The word "member" refers to your status as a recipient of the service, and "membership" refers to the package of services. There are no voting rights.

When you "subscribe" you are subscribing to news, information and updates.

These Terms & Conditions form the basis of the contract through which your service will be delivered.

Upon joining as a member or registering as a subscriber or user you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the Community & Online Forum Guidelines, and you are providing the appropriate consent to handle your personal information in accordance with our Data & Privacy Policy and the UK Data Protection Act. If Terms & Conditions, Community Guidelines or Data & Privacy Policy change, you will be notified by e-mail.

2. COPYRIGHT

This site and its contents are the copyright of the Association of Association Executives. No part of this site, its contents or any images displayed may be replicated in any form without the written permission of AAE.

Material on the website (including without limitation content, software, photographs, sounds, text, graphs, forms, graphics, ideas, articles, reports, notes and articles) is subject to copyright, database and other intellectual property rights unless otherwise indicated. The material may be downloaded to file or printer for personal and non-commercial use or for bringing the attention of other all persons who access our website through your internet connection (including for example your customers, suppliers or partners) to the material without requiring specific prior consent provided that any copy that you make retains all trademark, copyright or other proprietary notices, and any disclaimer contained thereon and no documents or related graphics on the website are modified in any way or used separately from the corresponding text.

The logo of the AAE is protected by copyright. It may be used by any AAE employees or affiliates for promoting AAE activities with permission from AAE Executive Director.

3. SUBSCRIPTION & MEMBERSHIP

Our membership categories are as follows:

  • Organizational Membership
  • Individual Membership with paid module options
  • Supplier Membership

As a member of the AAE you will become eligible for various membership benefits such as listed on the Membership Page.

The AAE needs to collect the following data to ensure the above benefits can be fulfilled:

  • Name, Job title, Job roles, position type
  • Email, Telephone, Work Address
  • Organization
  • Date of Birth, Education, Years of experience
  • Topics of Interest and Interests in Suppliers
  • Consent to Membership of the AAE (who will be provided with your details)

The above details will be kept until your membership of the AAE is cancelled. Once your membership has been cancelled, we will remove all information unless we are required by UK Law or Regulations to retain the information. The AAE will contact you after cancellation of your membership to seek consent to keep you informed about the association’s activities.

4. MEMBERS’ COMMITMENT

When joining the membership, members agree to receive:

  • Association Insights magazine, max every 3 months (by email or post at the discretion of AAE)
  • eBulletin, maximum every 2 weeks
  • Training / Education email maximum every 4 weeks
  • Content Update email, maximum every 4 weeks
  • A call to introduce a service or product that specifically matches your profile/interests, once every 6 months maximum

Members agree to complete every six months, a minimum:

  • One submission of content, as described on the Contribute page of the website
  • Update the AAE on their or their organisation's Educational or Information needs
  • Update the AAE on challenges faced in their organisation and needs from AAE
  • Update on Projects they are undertaking, to receive recommendations from the Resource Centre and other information to assist
  • Update of their Personal and Organisation profile
  • One research call of 10-20 minutes, on request
  • Feedback on all services taken up, on request

A member agrees to undertake all the commitments detailed in section 5, however long the membership lasts, whether or not any services are taken up.

5. MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION

You may cancel your membership at any time.

Any member benefits and rights including access to, or special prices for future events or services that you may have bought or booked for will cease on receipt of your cancellation notice, and any fees you have paid will be refunded by the AAE, subject to an administration fee.

If you do not complete the commitments detailed in section 5 above, for any six-month period of your membership then the you agree to pay the commercial non-member fee for the services you have used for the six-month period in which you are in default

The "Membership" will become invalid and will be cancelled without penalty to AAE when:

  • The AAE decides at anytime it wishes to cancel your "membership".
  • You start working for a supplier of, or become a representative of an organisation supplying services or products to membership organisations.

6. SUBSCRIBERS’ COMMITMENT

When joining as a subscriber, subscribers agree to receive:

  • Monthly Supplier eNewsletter
  • Other informative emails which can be unsubscribed from

7. PRICES

Any fees displayed on the AAE website or provided in any communication or call are

  1. charged in GBP except where the option is displayed in your basket or checkout in another currency,

2. subject to change without notice.

8. LIABILITY

AAE's liability to you will not extend to any membership related benefits or goods or services provided by any third party.

AAE specifically excludes liability for any loss or damage suffered by a member as a result of their involvement in whatever manner with any third party.

Reasonable effort is made to ensure the accuracy of information provided on our websites, in newsletters, emails and any other location or publication; however, neither the AAE nor the authors can accept liability for errors and omissions.

AAE's maximum financial liability for any service will be the amount paid by you to the AAE for the service.

9. QUERIES, COMMENTS, COMPLAINTS

The AAE will endeavour to respond within 48 hours to any complaint or query received. This may be an acknowledgement that we have received a complaint whilst further investigations are carried out. If you have any queries, comments or complaints about products and services please contact us at [email protected].

If you believe that any of the information AAE holds about you is incorrect or out of date, please log in and edit your information, and if the data is not editable, forward the accurate information to [email protected].

If you wish to obtain a copy of your personal data held by AAE, then please email [email protected]. You may be asked to provide proof of your identity and for any further information that might help AAE to locate the data you are seeking. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.

10. FORCE MAJEURE

Neither party shall be liable to the other for any delay or non-performance of its obligations by reason of matters beyond its control including, but not limited to, any act of terrorism, war, riot, civil commotion, compliance with any law or government order, fire, flood or storm, strikes, outspread of disease or any other industrial dispute, delay in transit, power failure, postal delay, or any event that cannot be reasonably be planned for or avoided.

11. VARIATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT

AAE may change these terms and conditions at any time upon giving its members 14 days prior notice.

The most recent edition of these terms and conditions will be binding upon AAE members, subscribers and users of its services.

AAE Members may exit the contract if they do not accept any updated terms and conditions by emailing [email protected].

These terms and conditions override any contrary terms or conditions published by the AAE.

12. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISTICTION

  1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England.
  2. You hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts notwithstanding the jurisdiction where you are based.
  3. If any court or competent authority decides that any of the provisions of these terms are invalid, unlawful or unenforceable to any extent, the term will, to that extent only, be severed from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by the law.
  4. These Terms and Conditions do not and shall not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
  5. A person who is not party to these terms shall not have any rights under or in connection with them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
  6. The Association of Association Executives (AAE) is managed by Professional Community Services Ltd whose registered office is at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, England, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom.

14. ONLINE PAYMENTS

This website will accept online payments by GoCardless and from credit or debit card from the following major credit card scheme: Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard and Maestro.

You may link to our site, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it.

You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.

The links on this web site are provided only for the convenience of AAE website visitors. The AAE has no interest in, responsibility for, or control over the linked site. In no event shall the AAE be liable for any damages resulting from use of these links even if the AAE has been informed of the possibility of such liability.
