Expert Advisory Panels

AAE Advisory Panel Members are experienced association executives who champion knowledge-sharing and inspire collaboration across the association community, and support AAE’s strategy and services, ensuring they remain relevant and high quality.

Members of AAE are invited to apply to one of the panels.

What Panel members do

  • Act as a sounding board on AAE’s offerings, including events, products and services
  • Provide perspective on the AAE's activities through annual Expert Advisory Panel meetings (online meetings or in-person)
  • Act as thought leaders for their panels
  • Initiate discussion threads (every 2 months) and comment (once a month) on threads of other people in the discussion group related to their panel
  • Facilitate Member Meetings in the area of their panel (three per year)
  • Review Resource Centre submissions from members; rating them and commenting where possible (average 5 items per month)
  • Recommend content for AAE events on the area of their panel
  • Submit content item(s), such as resources, checklists, templates etc. (every two to three months)
  • Support the AAE executive team to develop and maintain links with the community through recommending experts, member leads, suppliers and other partners

Requirements

  • Senior manager, director, head of department or executive head of a business, scientific association or membership body
  • Substantial expertise and strategic insight gained through senior roles in associations or similar organizations
  • Member of Association of Association Executives
  • 12 months appointment, with the possibility of extension
  • On average 2 hours commitment per month
  • Attend online / in-person meetings at least once a year

Applications are reviewed monthly. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for a brief conversation to discuss expectations and alignment. All applicants will be kept updated of this process.
