Six global mobility associations unite to form new coalition for collaborative leadership
In a significant move to enhance collaboration and address key issues within the global mobility and relocation sector, six leading associations have joined forces to establish the Coalition for Associations in Global Mobility. Announced in Dubrovnik, Croatia, the newly formed Coalition marks an important evolution in the industry’s approach to collective action and problem-solving.
The founding member organisations forming this incorporated entity are the Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC), the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA), the European Relocation Association (EuRA), FIDI Global Alliance, the International Association of Movers (IAM), and Worldwide ERC (WERC). This initiative builds on the groundwork laid by the Coalition of Greener Mobility, which these associations originally created in 2022 focusing specifically on environmental sustainability in talent mobility. The new Coalition broadens this collaborative platform to tackle a wider array of challenges impacting employment-based global mobility and relocation across international markets.
The Coalition is officially registered as a private company in the United Kingdom and aims to leverage the combined influence of its member associations. Its stated objectives include addressing the multifaceted challenges facing the global mobility sector, providing a formalised forum for ongoing dialogue and cooperative action, and delivering leadership and resources in areas such as research, education, and advocacy. This structure is designed to amplify the efforts of individual associations by creating synergy and shared initiatives that benefit the industry as a whole.
Importantly, the Coalition for Associations in Global Mobility remains open to expanding its membership to other not-for-profit associations operating within the sector. This inclusive approach is intended to strengthen the network and broaden its impact further.
Leadership of the Coalition will be overseen by an inaugural Board of Directors, featuring senior executives from each founding organisation. Stephen Cryne, President and CEO of CERC, will serve as Chair of the Board during 2025. Nick Estrada, CAE, CMP, Chief Executive Officer of CHPA, Brian Limperopulos, CAE, President of IAM, Anupam Singhal, President and CEO of WERC, Jesse Van Saas, Secretary General of FIDI Global Alliance, and Tad Zurlinden, CEO of EuRA, complete the Board membership. Their collective expertise spans the diverse aspects of global mobility, relocation, housing, and transportation logistics, positioning the Coalition to lead with strategic insight and a comprehensive perspective.
This strategic alliance among six preeminent associations reflects a shared understanding of the complexities and evolving demands within the global mobility industry. The platform they have created is designed to foster greater alignment among key stakeholders and facilitate the development of unified responses to industry-wide issues.
For executives involved in associations, confederations, and trade bodies within the global mobility domain, this development underscores the value of inter-organisational cooperation in enhancing service delivery and member engagement. The Coalition offers a centralised forum where collective knowledge and resources can drive progress on matters critical to their constituencies.
