Seldia hosts 9th European Direct Selling Conference to shape industry's future

The 9th European Direct Selling Conference hosted by Seldia featured educational sessions, networking, and the Astra Awards, recognising excellence in the industry. Keynote speeches and discussions focused on collaboration, innovation, and regulatory clarity for the future of direct selling in Europe.

Seldia, the European direct selling association, convened its 9th European Direct Selling Conference over two days, offering a platform for educational sessions, workshops, and extensive networking opportunities. The event was held in an undisclosed location, bringing together industry leaders, members, and advocates devoted to the advancement of direct selling throughout Europe.

One of the highlights of the conference was the Astra Awards Ceremony, which recognises the exceptional contributions of direct selling companies and associations in several categories, including positive impact, continued education and upskilling, and communication and outreach. The winners announced during the ceremony were as follows:

  • Positive Impact Award: Amway
  • Continued Education and Upskilling Award: Avon, with Mary Kay noted as a finalist.
  • Communication and Outreach Award: The Baltic Direct Selling Associations (DSAs), with finalists including Avedisco Italian DSA and Fédération de la Vente Directe.

Beatrice Nelson-Beer, Seldia Chairperson, inaugurated the conference with a keynote address, outlining her strategic vision for the future of direct selling in Europe. Nelson-Beer conveyed the significance of collaboration within the industry, stating, “The conference provided an invaluable opportunity for industry leaders, members, and advocates to unite in shaping the future of direct selling.” She emphasised the importance of driving innovation and ensuring the long-term growth of the sector.

The conference also featured a presentation from Isabelle Pérignon, who is the Director for Consumers in the Directorate-General Justice and Consumers at the European Commission. Pérignon discussed the EU Commission’s plans to enhance clarity and legal certainty in influencer marketing within the framework of existing regulations.

Imelda Vital, Executive Director of Seldia, highlighted the successful outcomes of the conference, remarking, “The success of the 9th European Direct Selling Conference reaffirms Seldia’s commitment to driving the industry forward through collaboration, innovation, and strategic dialogue.” She underscored the association's dedication to advocating for a sustainable and progressive direct-selling industry as it continues to evolve.
