European Academy of Religion Opens Conference Paper Submissions for EUARE 2026

The European Academy of Religion opens calls for papers within open panels as registration extends for its 2026 Annual Conference.

European Academy of Religion (EAR) opened the call for papers within open panels from 2 February 2026, following the January 2026 deadline for broader session proposals. Early-bird registration has been extended to 28 February 2026, signalling strong interest in the 2026 annual conference.

The European Academy of Religion's annual meeting, known as EUARE, brings together scholars of religious studies, theology, and related disciplines from across Europe and beyond. The academy was established with two major goals: to improve communication and foster inter-disciplinary and comparative approaches on the topic of religion and politics across religious traditions, political contexts, and historical periods; and to serve as a platform for disseminating research to media and policymakers working at the intersection of religion and public life.

The 2026 conference continues the EAR's tradition of bringing together diverse methodological and theoretical approaches — from historical theology to empirical sociology of religion, philosophy of religion, and studies of religious freedom and the public role of religion in democratic societies. Open panel formats allow scholars to propose sessions across the academy's thematic scope, with accepted papers eligible for publication through EAR's journal and publication partnerships.
