ESR and ESOR deliver free Cardiac MR course with 3,700+ registrants

Free Special Focus Series supports the European Commission's Safe Hearts Plan implementation.

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European School of Radiology (ESOR) are delivering a free Special Focus Series course on Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (MR) that has attracted more than 3,700 registrants. The course supports the implementation of the European Commission's Safe Hearts Plan and is being delivered in line with ESR's educational mission.

The Cardiac MR course sits within ESOR's wider Special Focus Series, which addresses subspecialty topics of high clinical relevance to European radiologists. Content is built around practical case-based learning, interpretation skills, and protocol selection for cardiovascular imaging. The programme complements ESR's existing work with bodies such as the European Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology on imaging pathways for cardiovascular disease.

The strong registration figures underline the demand among European radiologists for free, high-quality subspecialty education. ESR has said the success of the Cardiac MR course demonstrates the value of the Special Focus Series model, and the Society plans to extend the approach to further clinical areas over the remainder of 2026.
