EBAA Cancels Flagship EBACE Convention with Eight Weeks to Go
The European Business Aviation Association announced on 10 April 2026 the cancellation of EBACE26, its annual European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, which had been scheduled to take place at the Palexpo venue in Geneva from 2 to 4 June. The announcement came less than two months before the planned opening date and followed years of efforts to reform and reinvigorate the event.
The EBAA stated that despite a series of changes introduced for the 2026 edition — including the planned return of a reimagined static aircraft display, a stronger focus on business aviation operators, new networking opportunities, including a dedicated operator lounge, and a revised cost structure — the format had not generated the momentum needed to deliver a viable edition. Participation from exhibitors and attendees had remained insufficient to make the show commercially sustainable.
Stefan Benz, Chief Executive Officer of the EBAA, described the decision as a difficult one taken in the most responsible and transparent way available to the association. EBAA Chairman Juergen Wiese said the format of the show must respond to what the market and members genuinely need and value. The association is committed to working with members to shape the right platforms and forms of engagement for the future.
EBACE had faced significant challenges in recent years. In 2023, environmental protestors breached the static display area, damaging the event's reputation. The following year, the co-organiser the National Business Aviation Association of the United States withdrew from its long-standing partnership. The 2025 edition ran as a scaled-back event focused on networking and panels. The association confirmed that the cancellation concerns the 2026 edition only, and that it is still considering a 2027 edition.
