Deal or no deal! Addressing the challenges and opportunities of Brexit - insights for associations

There is no doubt that Brexit marks the most significant political and historical change for the UK in the last 50 years. The majority of associations will have been advising members on possible outcomes, lobbying for their sectors' interests and assessing the long-term impacts.

In this presentation, the speaker will provide an overview and snapshot of where we stand now. She will also provide a personal view as a Brussels-based UK national into the lack of understanding from both sides which has added to the complexity of the situation. Points to be covered include:
  • A Brexit overview and update from a Brussels perspective: what are the upcoming key milestones?
  • How has business adapted so far with case studies around key aspects of Brexit.
  • Insight into future opportunities and specific tasks that associations might undertake to be prepared for the coming months. This will include looking at your own association's ability to set up negotiations or create new alliances or even federations.
