British Pain Society Brings 59th Annual Scientific Meeting to Harrogate

Pain professionals across the UK are invited to the BPS Annual Scientific Meeting this month in Harrogate.

The British Pain Society is holding its 59th Annual Scientific Meeting from 21 to 23 April 2026 in Harrogate, bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers, and students from across the UK and internationally to explore the latest advances in pain science and management.

The programme covers all aspects of pain management, from acute and chronic pain to neuropathic and complex conditions. It includes plenary lectures, interactive workshops, and poster sessions. A number of international speakers feature in the programme. Confirmed speakers include Professor Lorenzo Fabrizi from University College London, who will discuss the representation of nociception and pain in the developing brain.

Professor Frank Huygen from Erasmus MC University Hospital will present on neuromodulation for low back pain. Professor Brian McGuire from the National University of Ireland, Galway, will examine comorbidity and pain, and the Patrick Wall Lecture will be delivered by Professor Karen Davis.

The meeting also presents opportunities for delegates to network across disciplines, exchange ideas, and build professional relationships. Beyond the ASM itself, the BPS has offered an accessible membership rate of £25 for students, early career professionals, and retirees for 2026, with the aim of ensuring that everyone at every career stage can stay connected to the society and its peer community.

The society has also scheduled a series of webinars throughout 2026, with recordings of recent sessions available via the BPS website for members unable to attend in person.
