Advocacy and Championing your membership’s professional reputation and contribution in their sector

The South African Healthcare sector is fragmented, with many different players of varying strength and influence and very little collaboration and trust between the various stakeholders.

The South African Healthcare sector is fragmented, with many different players of varying strength and influence and very little collaboration and trust between the various stakeholders.  Gaining both a voice and the kind of reputation that allows that voice to be heard is extremely difficult in such fragmented environments.  The perception that we have a vested interest that may be viewed as counter to other stakeholder interests is another hurdle. Gaining credibility, and retaining it, can be hard in this landscape.  However, to be invited to join conversations and to have our voice heard, we have had to achieve and maintain our credibility and reputation.   We will explore:

  • The importance of setting an overall strategic objective
  • Developing the tactics and actions to achieve the objective.
  • What successes have been achieved, how and why
