About the role

AmCham EU is seeking to recruit a Policy Adviser to lead its digital policy activities, while also contributing to other policy priorities across the organisation. The Policy Adviser manages AmCham EU’s Digital Economy Committee, which brings together representatives from member companies active in the digital/tech sector. He/she is responsible for the development and implementation of advocacy strategies in this area.

He/she coordinates committee activities and helps shape AmCham EU’s positions on key digital policy issues. In addition, the Policy Adviser will contribute to other policy priorities across the organisation, working closely with colleagues in line with business needs and team priorities. The Policy Adviser reports to the Policy Director and is part of the wider Policy and Public Affairs function, which integrates policy, external communications and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Main Tasks:

• Manage the day-to-day activities of the Digital Economy Committee.
• Drive advocacy initiatives from strategy through implementation.
• Draft and coordinate position papers, briefings and other advocacy materials.
• Monitor legislative and political developments and identify relevant stakeholders.
• Research, analyse and disseminate information on relevant policy developments.
• Foster engagement with members and facilitate the development of consensus positions.
• Build relationships with policymakers, industry associations and other relevant stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues at all stages of advocacy activities and across the wider team to deliver impactful initiatives.
• Organise committee meetings, conferences, seminars, delegation visits and other activities, including preparation, on-site coordination and follow-up.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Required:

• Minimum of two years of professional experience.
• Good understanding of digital policy and the EU decision-making process.
• Strong networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with a proactive mindset, high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with AI tools and an understanding of their responsible use in a professional environment are an asset.

Languages:

• Fluent English (both written and spoken); another EU language is an advantage

Required Qualifications

• University degree in European affairs, political science, international relations, law, economics, or a related discipline.
