About the role
The Royal College of Psychiatrists is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Membership team. Working as part of a small team, you will help us provide an excellent service to our members. Your responsibilities will include responding to queries via email and telephone, processing membership changes and payments, and ensuring that information held on our database is accurate and up to date.
The successful candidate will have experience of working quickly and accurately while managing deadlines, together with strong customer service skills. You should have experience of using a CRM database, ideally within a membership organisation. You will be flexible, well organised and confident working both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Take calls from members and support with their enquiries
- Responding to and drafting emails to members
- Updating the membership database with changes and data entry
- Processing registrations and bookings
- Creating card payment links and processing payments for members
- Supporting College events and ceremonies as necessary.
- Undertake other admin tasks as required by the wider team
General:
- Undertake any other duties related to the job purpose and which may be necessary in the College’s work.
- To carry out all duties safely and properly in accordance with the College’s Health and Safety Policy.
- To undertake all duties in line with the College’s values, policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring that the work undertaken actively promotes equity and diversity.
- To support the College’s sustainability and net zero programme with a focus on adhering to policy and implemented initiatives.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Essential:
- Experience of working with CRM databases
- Experience of working in a membership organisation
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to work as a member of a flexible team and to use initiative to work alone appropriately
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills
- Ability to work flexibly under pressure and maintain accuracy whilst working to deadlines
- Excellent MS Office skills including Outlook.
Desirable:
- Experience of helping out with events
- Experience in a customer service environment
