About the role
As our Corporate Development Executive (Sponsorship), you'll play a key role in securing corporate sponsorship and fundraising income across a diverse portfolio of events. This brand-new Corporate Development Executive opportunity offers the chance to work across research, fundraising, campaigning and policy, helping to create sustainable income that supports people affected by motor neurone disease (MND). Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Corporate Development Executive will lead sponsorship activity for the world-renowned International Symposium on ALS/MND while helping to grow long-term corporate engagement across the MND Association.
The Corporate Development Executive (Sponsorship) will be responsible for securing and managing corporate sponsorship and delivering high-quality, on-the-day fundraising activity across Association-wide events. A key focus of the role is leading the sponsorship strategy for the Association’s world-renowned International Symposium on ALS/MND, working closely with pharmaceutical companies and other corporate partners to generate significant sponsorship income.
The role will ensure excellent sponsor stewardship and the delivery of compliant partnership activity throughout. The postholder will develop compelling sponsorship propositions, maximise fundraising income across events, and deliver outstanding supporter and sponsor experiences. Through this, they will build and nurture long-term, strategic partnerships that contribute to sustainable income growth.
Responsibilities
Corporate Sponsorship & Partnerships:
- Responsible for securing significant gifts from national and international corporates (including pharmaceutical companies), which financially sustain the Association's events (including the International Symposium on ALS/MND).
- Identify, research, and secure corporate sponsors for cross-organisation events.
- Develop tailored sponsorship packages aligned to corporate objectives, CSR priorities, and brand values.
- Support the negotiation and delivery of sponsorship agreements to achieve agreed income targets.
- Identify opportunities to grow event sponsors into longer-term corporate partnerships.
Fundraising & Events:
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising activity at events, including but not limited to:
- On-the-day corporate fundraising initiatives
- Pledges, appeals, raffles, auctions, or challenge-based fundraising
- Work with Events and Community
- Fundraising teams to maximise fundraising income and supporter engagement.
- Support volunteers, staff, and corporate partners to fundraise effectively at events.
- Ensure fundraising activity is compliant with organisational policies and relevant regulations.
Relationship Management & Stewardship:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, event participants, and key supporters.
- Deliver excellent stewardship, including pre-event briefings, on-the-day support, and post-event follow-up.
- Provide impact reporting and income summaries to sponsors and internal stakeholders.
- Proposals, Reporting & Administration
- Produce high-quality sponsorship proposals, pitches, and fundraising materials.
- Maintain accurate records on the CRM, including sponsorship income, event fundraising totals, and supporter engagement.
- Monitor income performance against targets and contribute to evaluation and learning for future events.
Cross-Organisation Event Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams to identify and develop sponsorship and fundraising opportunities.
- Act as the main corporate fundraising contact for assigned events, ensuring seamless coordination from planning to delivery.
- Ensure sponsor visibility and fundraising messaging are aligned and delivered consistently across events.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of successful corporate income generation, sponsorship, or partnerships.
- Experience of working with corporates from the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice 2024, to ensure compliance and minimise associated risks.
- Experience of delivering or supporting fundraising activity at events.
- Excellent communication skills, including proposal and appeal writing.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A collaborative solutions-focused approach with a demonstrable income-generation mindset.
- Ability to engage professionally and credibly with corporate partners and senior stakeholders, representing the Association positively.
- Commitment to delivering excellent supporter and sponsor experiences, with an understanding of stewardship and relationship management.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, with travel anticipated as part of this role.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience and understanding of working with highly scientific research; utilising this to engage pharmaceutical companies (and others) in strategic charitable partnerships – for the benefit of our community.
- Understanding of planning/delivering cross-organisation or large-scale events.
- Understanding of corporate CSR, ESG, and brand-led partnerships.
- Experience working in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Experience using CRM systems to track income and relationships.
