EUF publishes reflection on future of Erasmus+ after Brussels conference
The European University Foundation published its position paper on the future of the Erasmus+ programme on 30 April 2026, following the Foundation's high-level conference in Brussels with MEPs, Commission officials and member institutions.
The paper sets out the Foundation's priorities for the post-2027 successor programme: simpler administration for outgoing students, full digitalisation of mobility paperwork, expanded support for doctoral and short-term mobilities, and stronger inclusion of students from non-EU partner countries.
EUF Secretary General João Pinto said the Foundation, which represents universities across Europe, will take the position to the European Parliament's Committee on Culture and Education ahead of negotiations on the next Multiannual Financial Framework. The paper has been co-signed by the European University Association and the European Students' Union.
