TEPPFA is the European Plastic Pipes and Fittings Association bringing together multinational company members and national associations across Europe, representing together 350 companies that manufacture plastic pipes and fittings for building and infrastructure applications. TEPPFA’s members have an annual production volume of 3 million tonnes, directly employing 40,000 people with €12 billion combined annual sales.

TEPPFA represents the European plastic pipe industry, bringing together multinational manufacturers and national associations across Europe. Based in Brussels, TEPPFA works with EU institutions and stakeholders on key policy areas including sustainability, circularity, water, construction, chemicals, and industrial policy.

About the role

TEPPFA is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to join its Brussels-based team. Reporting to the Director General, the successful candidate will monitor EU policy developments, support advocacy activities, draft policy positions, engage with stakeholders, and coordinate member working groups to help represent the industry's interests at European level.

You will monitor key EU policy developments, draft impactful advocacy position papers and materials, engage and advocate for TEPPFA positions before EU decision-makers and stakeholders, and coordinate internal working groups while reporting to the Director General. You will play a central role in shaping TEPPFA's policy advocacy on areas such as sustainability, circularity, construction, chemicals, water, and industrial policy, ensuring that the voice of the European plastic pipe industry is effectively represented in Brussels.

Responsibilities

  • Track key EU policy developments and translate them into clear insights for TEPPFA and its members.
  • Help shape TEPPFA’s advocacy agenda on sustainability, circularity, water, construction and industrial policy.
  • Create compelling position papers, briefings and consultation responses that bring industry priorities to life.
  • Bring members together to build shared positions and turn technical input into strong advocacy messages.
  • Represent TEPPFA in discussions with EU institutions, partner associations and external stakeholders.
  • Support events, workshops and meetings that strengthen TEPPFA’s voice and visibility in Brussels 

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of the EU institutions and European decision-making process.
  • Affinity with the building and construction sector, with an interest in plastic products and the wider EU industrial landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to distil complex technical issues into clear messages tailored to the audience.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their role in public affairs and stakeholders’ engagement
  • Proactiveness, curiosity, and a can-do attitude are highly valued.
  • Good dose of humour and rock-solid team spirit. 

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in political science, law, economics, or a related field and 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in EU or national advocacy, public affairs, and policy work
