About the Organisation

We are the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH). We are the largest UK multidisciplinary membership organisation working at the heart of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), supporting 14,000 healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care. We provide an important voice for SRH professionals. We influence policy and public opinion, working with local and national governments, MPs, commissioners, policymakers, the media, patient groups, and other decision-makers.

About the role

The Media and Marketing Officer will contribute to the College’s ambition by increasing awareness, influence, and engagement with key audiences across traditional and digital media channels. Working with the wider Marketing and Communications team, you’ll help drive engagement with the College’s member and public-facing campaigns through compelling content. You’ll also support our partnership and collaborative working across the sector and beyond.

The Media and Marketing Officer supports the College’s public profile, helping to develop compelling content to support our mission to improve sexual and reproductive healthcare (SRH) outcomes across the UK. You will be able to spot opportunities and help us advocate for and work with the SRH community and patients to ensure that both are well supported in the delivery and accessibility of SRH.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor digital, social media and traditional media coverage of women’s health and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) issues to identify emerging stories, trends and opportunities for engagement and content creation.  
  • Generate, edit and publish authentic multimedia content across our social media channels to drive community engagement, ensuring our social platforms uphold and reinforce our brand identity, tone of voice and inclusive language guide.
  • Proactively monitor and moderate CoSRH social channel reactions and community engagement, with the support of the Media and Communications Manager.   
  • Support the Media and Communications Manager in preparing and disseminating press releases, statements, blogs and campaign materials in line with the communications plan.
  • Proactively gather stories, write, collate, edit and produce high-quality regular digital newsletters to our various audience groups, to agreed deadlines. 
  • Using audio and video editing platforms, shoot/record and edit video and audio content to produce short podcasts or social videos.
  • Develop and execute paid social campaigns, ensuring delivery to time, budget, and quality standards. 
  • Work alongside the Digital Engagement Lead on managing and maintaining the Google Ads accounts, assisting in keyword planning, campaign delivery and channel optimisation.
  • Track and produce regular reports, insights and analysis on owned and paid social media, and assist with plans for improved engagement. 
  • Collaborate to develop and implement a social media strategy which aligns with, and supports, our strategic goals. 
  • Support the Digital Manager and Digital Engagement Lead on editing and uploading web content via our Content Management System (iMIS RiSE).  
  • Ensure our communications practices are compliant with relevant Data Protection legislation and best practice.  

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Essential:

  • Working in a busy stakeholder marketing or communications team. 
  • Planning, producing and scheduling high-quality creative content across traditional and digital channels.
  • Managing corporate social media accounts and using data and insights to increase audience engagement and measure impact.
  • Understanding of social scheduling tools and hands-on experience in social community management 
  • Using digital design tools (Canva, Adobe) to create professional, branded visual content and graphics. 
  • Analysing data using digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics, social and email analytics, to measure activity and generate insights, reports and recommendations
  • Creating, scripting, shooting, audio recording and using video-editing tools to a basic level, to produce short podcasts or social videos 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate challenging relationships, build consensus and identify when a compromise is needed while bringing stakeholders together around a clear, unified message.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to undertake multiple projects, work independently and reliably deliver to deadlines. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to tailor content for different audiences and purposes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.

Desirable:

  • Creating and distributing e-newsletters and managing subscriber lists via email marketing platforms.
  • Experience developing paid PPC campaigns across social media platforms and Google Ads 
  • Experience working in health policy or the charity sector.
  • Experience supporting events, meetings or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues, including health inequalities and service delivery challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent standard, or demonstrating equivalent skills
  • Undergraduate degree level or demonstrating equivalent skills
