About the role
As Events Officer, you will play a key role in enabling event organisers to deliver safe, fair and successful events. With a strong focus on administration, you will provide essential support to a range of event organisers, building effective relationships and helping them navigate event requirements and processes. You will also contribute to the hands-on delivery of a small number of events, ensuring a positive experience for participants and stakeholders. Combining technical knowledge, relationship management, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help deliver an exceptional service and event experience for all involved.
We’re looking for someone with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to administer the event permitting process. You will be a clear and logical thinker, with the ability to assess event requirements, identify practical solutions, and make sound decisions throughout the permitting process. Your knowledge and/or experience of organising and delivering events will be essential in helping you provide effective advice and support to event organisers.
You will have excellent communication skills, enabling you to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the organisation and liaise confidently with event organisers and other stakeholders. While much of the role is office-based, you will also have opportunities to attend and support events, giving you first-hand experience of event delivery and the chance to see your work come to life. Working collaboratively as part of a team will be essential, as you help create a positive experience for event organisers, participants and spectators alike.
This role would suit someone who is passionate about sport and excited by the opportunity to play a key role behind the scenes. Whether supporting community events or larger sporting occasions, you will take pride in helping to create successful events that make a positive impact. We also value the different perspectives that a more representative workforce would bring to our work and are particularly keen to hear from applicants from diverse communities and backgrounds.
Our Events Officer will report to the Events Manager. The successful candidate will be an integral and valued member of the events team and is likely to thrive through developing and maintaining close working relationships with wider development team colleagues and event organisers.
