Commercial Marketing Assistant
The Law Society
About the Organisation
Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales. From negotiating with and lobbying the profession's regulators, government, and others, to offering training and advice, we're here to help, protect, and promote solicitors across England and Wales. An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit for a role at the heart of the Law Society's campaigning and political influencing activity.
The Law Society is the independent professional body for over 200,000 solicitors in England and Wales. A year into the new government, there is a significant opportunity to influence the political debate, drive important issues such as access to justice, the rule of law, and a thriving legal business sector up the agenda, and influence policy on behalf of our members.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of expert marketers that prioritises collaboration, innovation, personal growth, and a supportive team culture. This role has become available following the recent promotion of our current Commercial Marketing Assistant. This role will support marketing campaigns to promote books, commercial partnerships, events, and the Law Gazette Jobs Board. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across our Engagement, Events, Publications, and Sales Teams to understand our audiences and products, and use this insight to reach audiences with creative content across a wide variety of channels.
Whilst our core channels are our websites, emails, and social channels, the successful candidate will test and learn from activity across the whole spectrum of earned, owned, and paid media to elevate your campaigns and add more value for our audiences. Alongside work on campaigns and content, the successful candidate will provide administrative support for the team including raising and tracking purchase orders and invoices; data extraction, manipulation, and analysis; proofreading; and other support to help with the smooth running of the team.
This role sits within the Commercial Marketing Team, which comprises 9 permanent staff, and sits within our wider Marketing Team, which totals 26 people. This is an exciting time to join as there’s a strong drive for the Marketing department to develop more creative, strategic, content-led campaigns; reach new audiences; and act more competitively to deliver more value for our members, customers, and the business.
Whilst there are core elements of the role that need to be delivered, there are opportunities to shape this role based on your skills and interests. We try to align projects, campaigns and opportunities with team members’ interests and aspirations as much as possible, so our team members can learn, grow, and gain the experiences needed to progress their career.
Support the Commercial Marketing Team in their delivery of creative, customer-centric, data-informed marketing campaigns to promote the Law Society’s commercial marketing function, which includes awareness and revenue generation, leveraging audience insights, and providing administrative support that underpins marketing outputs. Collaborate with colleagues across Member Communications and Marketing, as well as other teams, to understand audiences, products and services; supporting a wide range of activity that increases reach, builds awareness, generates leads, and elevates the member experience. This is a key role for the department in co-ordinating day-to-day activities that help efficient marketing delivery and collaborative working.
