About the role
The ESC is currently looking for an Association Manager as soon as possible to work at its headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.
Responsibilities
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- To define and implement the strategic direction of the groups under their responsibility, ensuring alignment with ESC priorities and institutional governance. The role involves managing group activities professionally and ethically, supporting leadership and volunteer engagement, while ensuring operational excellence. It also includes enhancing the visibility and impact of group contributions to reinforce ESC’s positioning, credibility, and influence
Contribute to defining and implementing the Association’s strategy:
- In alignment with ESC governance principles, you will translate the Board’s strategic direction into concrete action plans. You will define and implement validated projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders, allocate appropriate resources (budget, staff, tools, timelines), and actively contribute to developing the Association’s activities to strengthen its positioning as a European leader.
Manage the Association and oversee its activities with professionalism and ethical standards:
- You will ensure smooth and ethical operations of the Association in line with ESC’s mission and values. This includes maintaining strong relationships with ESC stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to the Board, supporting strategic decision implementation, motivating volunteers, setting and tracking performance indicators, analyzing variances, and recommending or applying corrective measures when needed.
Uphold the brand image and ethical standards of the ESC, the Association, and the European Heart House:
- You will represent the Association and ESC consistently and positively, ensuring that all programs and services are promoted with coherence and clarity. You will also ensure that communications to members, committees, and partners reflect the values and professionalism of the organization.
Contribute to ESC’s development through promotion and visibility of the Association’s projects and achievements:
- You will actively support the visibility, recognition, and strategic positioning of the Association within ESC by highlighting its initiatives and results across various platforms and audiences.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Hard Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in strategic, operational, and leadership roles
- Project leadership and volunteer/team motivation
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Smartsheet
Soft Skills:
- Strategic thinking & stakeholder alignment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
- Adaptability and multi-project handling
- Time management, planning, and organizational abilities
- Effective team and project management
- Outstanding relationship-building with internal and external partners
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (Bac +4/5) in Business, Administration, or Management
Compensation & Benefits
- Cadre status
- Forfait jour (215 days/year)
- Fixed salary + 13th month and vacation bonus (1%)

- Possibility of teleworking up to 3 days a week, after two months' integration at ESC + fixed daily allowance
