About the role

This role supports the successful delivery of the Soil Association's Farm to Fork Ambassador Programme. The role will be focused on maintaining and developing our current network of 40+ ambassadors, supporting key voices to tell their stories, creating and editing content, and the associated admin of the programme. This role will work within the External Comms team, working with the Ambassador Programme Manager. 

The Ambassador Programme is part of our Farm to Fork Partnership with Ocado Retail. This is a 3-year partnership (2024-2027) to grow the agroecological farming sector and access to healthy and sustainable food.  The programme is all about showing what's possible to inspire others, changing the food system from the bottom up. To do this, the Soil Association has recruited 40+ passionate people working on the frontline of the food system to be Ambassadors who will be upskilled and empowered to tell their stories. 

We are constantly developing the network to connect Ambassadors to generate collaborations, learning and inspiration.  We improve opportunities and access for our Ambassadors' stories; we are here to amplify their voices to offer hope and inspiration to the next generation of food champions.

Responsibilities

Project:

• Support the delivery and ongoing development of the
• Ambassador Programme through effective coordination, communication and administration.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with
• Ambassadors and support ongoing engagement across the network.
• Monitor and support Ambassador activity across digital
• channels, helping to amplify relevant content and storytelling opportunities.
• Coordinate training, networking and engagement activities, including online sessions, in - person events and peer - to- peer learning opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records, databases and programme information in line with organisational processes and standards.
• Provide administrative and logistical support to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of programme activities.
• Deliver high - quality work to agreed standards, taking ownership of day - to- day responsibilities and contributing to the success of the wider team.

Communications:

• Create, edit and schedule engaging content across social media channels, working collaboratively with Ambassadors to amplify authentic stories, experiences and campaign activity where relevant.
• Produce and distribute a monthly Ambassador newsletter, alongside regular programme updates and communications via WhatsApp and email to maintain engagement across the network.
• Share Ambassador stories, insights and programme updates internally across the Soil Association, helping to connect activity across food, farming, policy and wider organisational priorities.
• Monitor and analyse social media and digital engagement performance, contributing to reporting, evaluation and the ongoing development of the Ambassador Programme.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Knowledge & Experience Essential:

• Extensive demonstrable experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships and networks with a range of stakeholders.
• Extensive experience using social media platforms to engage audiences, build online communities and support storytelling and communications activity.
• Extensive experience creating digital content, including filming, editing and producing content for social media and online channels.
• Coordinate and support Extensive experience supporting with delivery of online and in - person events, training sessions or engagement activities.
• Extensive experience using newsletters and social channels to support communications and audience engagement.
• Experience managing and maintaining accurate records.
• A sound understanding of issues relating to food, farming, climate, nature and health.

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong digital and IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with good attention to detail.
• Competence using video editing software such as CapCut, Videoleap, DaVinci Resolve or similar platforms.
• Competence using design tools such as Canva or similar platforms.
• Good research and information - gathering skills

• Passion for good food, farming and sustainable food systems.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship - building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, plan workloads effectively and use initiative.
• An interest in people, diversity and lived experiences, with the ability to approach stories and relationships with sensitivity and curiosity.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in, or knowledge of, the food and farming sector.
• Experience conducting interviews and gathering case studies, stories or participant insights.
• Experience supporting the development of training sessions, workshops or learning resources.
• Awareness of social media analytics and reporting tools, with the ability to contribute to monitoring and evaluation activity.
