AFP launches innovative mobile app to boost member engagement and resources

The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) introduces a new mobile app designed to enhance resource access and community interaction among fleet industry professionals, signalling a significant digital advancement within the sector.

The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) has recently launched a new mobile app aimed at enhancing the engagement and support it offers to its members. This app marks a significant step in AFP’s broader digital infrastructure upgrade, designed to provide fleet professionals with seamless access to a range of resources and foster interaction within the membership community.

The app is crafted to serve multiple functions crucial for fleet management professionals. It includes a comprehensive resource area stocked with essential policy templates and practical advice on key fleet management topics. Another notable feature is a chat facility, which allows members to ask questions that are categorised by topics, making them easy to search and revisit later. This functionality is intended to facilitate quick and effective peer support and knowledge exchange among members.

Additional features of the app encompass a member directory and an events diary, keeping users connected with peers and informed about upcoming AFP activities. Members can also access webinar recordings and detailed information about AFP Fleet Academy courses directly through the app. The inclusion of polls on leading fleet subjects encourages members to participate actively in shaping discussions and sharing insights relevant to the sector.

Paul Hollick, AFP’s chair, explained that the driving force behind the app was to enable members to interact and access critical information conveniently, regardless of their location or activity. He highlighted that the organisation had invested considerable time consulting with potential users to refine the app’s design, aiming to build on AFP’s historically strong member interaction. Early feedback, he noted, has been positive, signalling that the app will play a pivotal role in further enhancing member engagement.

Developed by BDE Design, the app is available for both Android and Apple devices, ensuring broad accessibility. Future updates are planned to include push notifications, which will alert members to new content or features as they become available, helping them stay informed in real time.

This move aligns with the AFP's ongoing commitment to adapting its services to meet the evolving needs of fleet professionals, leveraging technology to create a more connected and resource-rich member experience. By offering up-to-date policy templates, interactive tools, and educational content in a single, easy-to-use platform, the AFP app exemplifies how trade associations can harness digital innovation to better serve their members in a fast-changing industry landscape.
