About the Organisation
European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is the Brussels-based trade association representing the leading online gambling operators established, licensed, and regulated within the EU. EGBA collaborates with national and EU authorities and other stakeholders to foster a well-regulated online gambling market that protects consumers and channels consumer demand towards regulated operators. As part of its commitment to player protection, EGBA also organises the annual European Safer Gambling Week, bringing together industry stakeholders to promote safe and sustainable play.
EGBA members collectively hold 321 online gambling licences, each with its own strict compliance requirements to offer their services across 21 European countries. Beyond these requirements, members also adhere to EGBA’s industry standards and codes on responsible advertising, anti-money laundering, and player protection. Together, they account for approximately 30% of Europe’s online gambling gross gaming revenue.
About the role
The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is the Brussels-based trade association representing the leading online gambling operators established, licensed, and regulated within the EU. We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs and Policy Manager to strengthen our regulatory and policy team. Reporting to the Secretary General, you will monitor, analyse, and shape EGBA’s response to EU and national regulatory developments affecting the online gambling sector, with a particular focus on national regulation. You will manage a diverse portfolio of dossiers and play a direct role in building and coordinating EGBA’s policy positions.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyse EU and national legislative and regulatory developments across EU member states, including CJEU case law, and translate these into clear, actionable insights for EGBA and its members
- Develop policy positions, briefings, and advocacy materials to support EGBA’s engagement with national regulators, governments, and stakeholders
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of regulatory dossiers – including EU law infringement proceedings, policy studies, public consultations, and regulatory surveys, providing expert analysis and recommendations
- Coordinate internal committees and working groups, gathering member input, aligning positions, and driving collaboration on shared regulatory priorities
- Represent EGBA in meetings, workshops, and industry forums at the national level
- Contribute to EGBA’s communications outputs, including position papers, reports, and briefings.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
- 3-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, policy analysis, ideally within a trade association, regulatory body, law firm, and corporate environment
- Sound understanding of and genuine interest in online gambling regulation at the EU and national level
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex dossiers, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional EU languages are an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with members, regulators, government officials, and senior stakeholders
- Proactive, well-organised, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in law, political science, or a related field; strong knowledge of EU law is highly desirable
