About the role
Reporting to the Acquisition Manager, this role primarily supports the planning, delivery, and implementation of acquisition campaigns (around 80% of your time). This includes recruitment, initial retention, upgrade, and reactivation of supporters and members across multiple channels. Around 20% of your time will focus on Events and Community Fundraising, including challenge events and third-party activities, providing stewardship and campaign support.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, working collaboratively with colleagues to maximise supporter engagement and lifetime value. We’re a small team, but we like to have a big impact on supporters and members.
Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities Overall:
- Support the relevant manager to deliver targeted campaigns to maximise value and engagement among existing supporters
- Brief external suppliers to produce campaign material, ensuring they are accurate, on-brand, and delivered on time and to budget
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to collate campaign content, including case studies, statistics, and images
- Copywriting and proofreading public‑facing campaign content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, brand consistency, and strong fundraising messaging.
- Ensure we provide an exceptional stewardship to supporters, members, and event fundraisers
- Work with the CRM Manager to ensure accurate records are maintained
- Proactively identify opportunities to work with other areas of fundraising and other operational colleagues to help build the supporter base to increase engagement and lifetime value
- Assist the team in evaluating and growing the portfolio of activities, working within set budgets
- Track and report on campaign performance and make recommendations for improvements to future campaigns based on insights gained
- With the Individual Giving and Membership Manager, develop and manage the agreed budget, and undertake regular reporting on income and expenditure
- Manage the donation thanking process and maintain the portfolio of thank-you letters
- Comply with legal requirements and best practice outlined by the relevant bodies (Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Fundraising Regulator,
- Information Commissioner's Office, and the Gambling Commission, to implement good data protection principles, maintain confidential data sensitively, and adhere to organisational GDPR guidelines.
Acquisition:
- Support the recruitment of new donors, lottery players and members via face-to-face, digital, lead generation, telemarketing and other acquisition methods, project managing each activity from conception through to delivery, processing and fulfilment, liaising with suppliers, regulators and internal teams as required.
- Proactively contribute to the welcome journey, suggesting ways to retain members in their first year and beyond
- Import data as required, securely and accurately
- Maximise income from new members through accurate Gift Aid processing
- Undertake regular reporting on income and expenditure
Events:
- Support a portfolio of fundraising events (in-person and online) and community fundraisers, as well as in-memory and in-celebration income
- Build relationships and provide excellent stewardship to fundraisers
- Manage the donation thanking process for event and community fundraisers.
- Assist with designing bespoke supporter journeys where required
- Coordinate and send fundraising materials
Other:
- Undertake other reasonable tasks and duties in relation to member and supporter care, as may be requested by the Head of Supporter Engagement, such as improving processes and updating procedures
- Undertake occasional UK travel as required, such as for events, site visits and attendance at meetings.

Essential:

- Excellent organisation skills, able to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines
- Able to follow procedures and work accurately, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting, proofreading and a professional telephone manner.
- Experience coordinating digital and direct marketing campaigns.
- Able to work autonomously and adapt to changing demands in a busy environment
- Numerate, able to produce and interpret campaign analysis and support on budget management
- Experience in using CRM databases and data handling
- Role requires a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
Desirable:
- Experience in Individual Giving fundraising or Events fundraising.
- Familiarity with multi-channel acquisition (digital, direct mail, telemarketing, face-to-face).
- Knowledge of paid digital advertising (PPC, paid social).
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (Fundraising Regulator, Gambling Commission).
- Experience in budget management and supplier liaison.
- Previous involvement in community or challenge event fundraising.
