About the role
The Director – Finance, Administration & IT is responsible for the organisation’s financial governance and operational support functions, ensuring sound financial management, efficient administration, reliable IT systems, and a coherent HR framework aligned with strategic priorities. Reporting to the Secretary General, the Director contributes to strategic planning and ensures that financial and operational systems effectively support the organisation’s activities. The role also provides financial analysis, operational oversight, and risk management support to the Secretary General and governance bodies.
Responsibilities
Finance & Administration:
- Assisted by the Head of Finance, Administration & Payroll:
- Define and drive the organisation’s financial strategy, ensuring strong governance and long-term sustainability
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in alignment with strategic priorities
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and integrity of accounting systems
- Deliver financial insights, risk analysis, and recommendations to senior leadership and governance bodies
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and relationships with external partners (auditors, banks)
- Supervise administrative and operational support functions to ensure efficient internal operations
- Drive process optimisation, resource efficiency, and continuous improvement across support services.
Human Resources:
- Assisted by the HR Manager:
- Provide strategic oversight of HR policies, people management, and organisational development
- Oversee recruitment, performance appraisal cycles, training, and employee relations
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and internal HR frameworks.
Information Technology (IT):
- Assisted by 2 Senior IT advisors:
- Lead IT strategy and oversee infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient operations
- Ensure maintenance, performance, and evolution of systems, tools, and digital platforms
- Manage external IT providers and outsourced services
- Oversee cybersecurity, data protection, and business continuity
- Drive digitalisation initiatives to enhance organisational efficiency.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Experience, Knowledge & Competencies:
- At least 10 years of professional experience in financial governance and operational management at a senior management level
- Strong knowledge of financial governance, accounting principles, and internal control systems
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to contribute to strategic organisational development and support senior leadership
- Fluency in English, French, and Dutch.
Required Qualifications
- Master's in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, and a related field
