About the Organisation
FYEG is an international NGO registered and operating under Belgian law. We are a dynamic youth organisation that unites Green youth movements, young Green activists and Green political organisations from all over Europe. We organise youth projects, summer camps, international trainings, conferences, campaigns, direct actions and serve as a youth lobbying organisation and a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among European Greens.
About the role
The Digital Engagement and Campaigns Officer is responsible for the digital community of FYEG and for supporting the digital campaigning strategy of the organisation. The Digital Engagement and Campaigns Officer will also support the general functioning and development of FYEG’s activities with ad-hoc tasks.
This is a position requiring good organisation and time management skills, responsibility, ability to work independently and often with tight deadlines. The Digital Engagement and Campaigns Officer works under the supervision of the Secretary-General of FYEG.
Responsibilities
This means managing FYEG’s avenues of participation for digital sympathisers and volunteers and supporting the implementation of FYEG’s digital campaigns and actions:
- Dynamising and moderating the digital community of the organisation hosted on FYEG’s internal digital platform,
- Creation of digital fundraising campaigns on Lunda with the support of the Communication and Campaigns Officer.
- Participating in the conceptualization and preparation of digital campaigns in cooperation with the Communication and Campaigns Officer.
- Acting as a bridge between the digital community and the Executive Committee, and vice versa.
- Managing FYEG’s CRM system
- Coordinating and keeping in contact with relevant stakeholders to create coordinated actions related to the campaigns.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Requirements:
- Proven experience in copywriting
- Experience in digital campaigning (petitions, mass mailing) and digital organising
- Very good computer skills and digital literacy (knowledge of Action Network or similar Customer Relationship Management tools)
- Experience working with volunteers
- Basic experience in online and in-person event planning
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to take initiative and a problem-solving attitude
- Proficiency in the English language, written and spoken
- Good people skills and the ability to work in multi-cultural teams and environments
- Good teamwork and personal communication skills
- Flexibility to travel and occasionally work during evenings or weekends
- Alignment with the goals and values of FYEG.
Additional Assets:
- Previous involvement in a local or international youth organisation
- Knowledge and experience with non-formal education methodology
- Understanding of Green values such as ecology, feminism, anti-racism and social justice
- Basic experience in fundraising, particularly small-donors fundraising
- Knowledge of other languages
- Experience working in the non-profit sector
- Previous participation in FYEG events and bodies
- Experience with Discord or similar digital platform.
Compensation & Benefits
- 20 days of paid legal holidays per year, plus additional holidays between December 25th and 31st
- €8 worth of meal vouchers for every day worked (averaging €160 per month)
- Coverage of daily transport between home and work (amount dependent on the distance and mode of transport)
- Telework allowance of €125 per month
