About the role
The BCA is the home for chiropractors who put their patients first. We support our members to fulfil the challenges of being a modern, patient-centred practitioner by offering comprehensive services and events. We are looking for someone to support our small Communications & Marketing team with content and communications activity, as well as some marketing initiatives.
Develop and implement effective content and communications plans to engage members and grow the BCA’s impact across the UK. Main responsibilities include management of website content, development of social media content & plans, email marketing, member communications, including our magazine, Contact, as well as design and execution of event communication strategy.
Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of our communications strategy, with a focus on digital communications, content and community events.
- Social media management and planning, including content creation (which must include video and design).
- Plan, create and optimise email marketing campaigns (the BCA’s weekly newsletter), including segmentation, scheduling, and performance analysis.
- Take an active role in the planning, coordination and production of the BCA’s magazine, including liaison with contributors and stakeholders.
- Undertake innovative marketing of events, with a focus on delegates and sponsors/advertisers.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external content & communications contributors (e.g. BCA committees), ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Liaise confidently with stakeholders such as designers, agencies and internal teams to deliver content & communications projects end-to-end.
- Manage multiple communication channels concurrently, ensuring consistent messaging and prioritisation across platforms.
- Independently manage content & communication workflows, timelines and stakeholder interactions to ensure efficient delivery without the need for constant oversight.
- Produce clear, concise and actionable data reports, focusing on insights and recommendations, and ensuring follow-through on agreed actions.
- Prepare for and actively participate in meetings, contributing ideas, updates and recommendations as a collaborative team member.
- Assist in the planning and execution of media relations and public affairs.
- Deputise for the Communications & Marketing Manager when necessary.
- Manage BCA’s brand and application, in partnership with the Communications & Marketing Manager.
- Administration activities such as cataloguing of marketing collateral, meeting coordination, and event organisation.
General and Regulatory Responsibilities:

- Support and actively promote the values, beliefs and expected behaviours of the Association, including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
- To perform other duties from time to time which are reasonable in relation to the individual’s skills, abilities and position in the Association.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Experience:
- Content production across multiple channels (including website, publications, newsletters and social media)
- Developing online engagement plans
- Working across internal teams on joint plans

Compensation & Benefits
- Flexible working: All roles are home-based, with occasional travel for meetings and events. Company contribution to work-from-home costs. Ability to work in alternate locations, with line manager approval.
- Holiday entitlement: From 25 to 30 days holiday each year, plus bank holidays. Generous additional time off over Christmas, not taken from allowance.
