About the role

We are looking for a passionate, curious and news-savvy communications professional who loves following current affairs, spotting emerging stories and turning complex developments into compelling narratives. As Manager for Communications & Media, you will play a central role in strengthening Digital Europe’s voice and visibility across Europe’s media and policy landscape. You will work on some of the most exciting and fast-moving topics in tech and public policy, helping shape conversations around AI, digital transformation, competitiveness, innovation and Europe’s place in the global technology race

You will collaborate closely with policy experts, senior leadership and outreach colleagues while contributing to strategic campaigns, media engagement and high-profile communications initiatives.

Responsibilities

Media Analysis and Storytelling:

  • Monitor daily political, technology and policy developments and identify what matters most for DIGITALEUROPE and its members.
  • Produce concise and insightful news summaries and strategic media analysis for internal audiences.
  • Write high-quality communications materials, including press releases, op-eds, media briefings and leadership talking points.
  • Identify proactive media opportunities and help position DIGITALEUROPE in key debates.
  • Analyze media coverage and support the organization’s visibility strategy.
  • Use AI tools to enhance research, analysis and content creation.

Communications:

  • Translate complex policy topics into clear, engaging and impactful content.
  • Create compelling communications across the website, social media, newsletters and campaigns.
  • Support major announcements, campaigns, international engagements and events.
  • Work closely with policy and outreach teams to ensure consistent messaging and strong narrative positioning.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in communications, media relations, journalism, public affairs, and a related field.
  • Experience working in EU policy communications.
  • Interest in technology, innovation and digital policy.
  • Experience in tech, associations or public affairs is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Outstanding writing and editing skills in English. Native-level English is needed.
  • A genuine passion for news, media and current affairs.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to process information quickly.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics into engaging stories and messages.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Confidence using AI tools and digital communication platforms.

  • Curious and passionate about staying up to date with relevant news and sharing with the wider team.
