Ofqual, the statutory regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England, have been regulating qualifications provided by over 150 awarding organisations, since 2010. Why?

Ofqual, the statutory regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England, have been regulating qualifications provided by over 150 awarding organisations, since 2010. Why? So that professional bodies, employers, learners and universities can be confident that qualifications – whether they are GCSEs or vocational qualifications, on subjects ranging from history to fish husbandry -  are reliable indicators of knowledge, skills and understanding.
