The Aesthetic Society launches Netflix-style Academy to revolutionise plastic surgery education

The Aesthetic Society unveils a revamped Academy with a mobile-friendly, Netflix-inspired interface, offering exclusive on-demand content, CME credits, and international partnerships to advance plastic surgeons’ education and support career development globally.

The Aesthetic Society has unveiled a significantly enhanced version of its educational platform, The Aesthetic Society Academy, delivering a more accessible and engaging learning experience tailored for plastic surgeons, aesthetic professionals, residents, and fellows. Exclusively available to members of The Aesthetic Society and AlliedPro, the platform now boasts a mobile-friendly interface inspired by the familiar Netflix browsing style, which enables users to search and select educational content by topic, format, or specialty with ease.

This redesigned platform aggregates an extensive and expanding library of resources, including on-demand webinars, live event recordings, and practice management modules. Key content features recordings from The Aesthetic MEET—the Society’s rebranded annual meeting—webinars published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and interactive Journal Club discussions. The goal is clear: to provide comprehensive, up-to-date educational material that caters to a wide range of specialties within the aesthetics field, supporting practitioners at various stages of their careers.

Mark Theis, CEO of The Aesthetic Society, described the update as "a game-changer for the surgical and nonsurgical community alike," underscoring the platform's role in delivering enhanced value to members. The platform further empowers users by enabling them to earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for completed courses, complementing features like digital progress tracking and achievement badges that incentivize continued professional development and help bolster patient confidence.

In line with its commitment to innovation and inclusion, The Aesthetic Society has introduced distinct educational programs within the Academy, such as the GEMS series for global partners, the Saturday Master Class series targeted at all surgeons, and the Blueprints series for AlliedPro members. This structure reflects the Society’s broader strategy of serving an increasingly diverse membership base through both virtual and in-person educational offerings.

The Society also promotes early-career engagement through its Associate Program, which offers a four-year structured pathway to membership with reduced fees and access to prestigious resources including the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and complimentary webinars within the Academy. This initiative aims to support the education and professional growth of emerging aesthetic surgeons by making world-class content more affordable and accessible.

Beyond education, The Aesthetic Society has been expanding its global footprint through the Global Alliance Partners program, which recently secured partnerships with 31 leading international aesthetic surgery organisations. These collaborations facilitate cross-cultural exchange and open up additional professional development opportunities worldwide. The launch of the GEMS webinar series, part of the Academy’s offerings, further promotes this global educational cooperation.

Overall, the revamped Aesthetic Society Academy represents a strategic transformation in how aesthetic education is delivered, promising to enhance learning flexibility, accessibility, and interactivity. As the Society continues to develop new features and expand its global alliances, the platform is positioned to become an indispensable resource for professionals seeking to stay at the forefront of aesthetic surgery advancements.
