The Institute of Hospitality has announced its 2025 annual awards, celebrating excellence in the global hospitality sector with a black-tie event in London.

The Institute of Hospitality (IoH) has announced the details for its 2025 annual awards, aimed at recognising excellence within the global hospitality sector. This prestigious event is set to take place on Monday, 16th June 2025, at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, with a black-tie dinner to honour the winners.

The awards are open to professionals and organisations across the globe, providing a platform to celebrate and acknowledge superior contributions to hotel management, restaurant operations, and various other hospitality related fields. Among the varied categories that participants can submit nominations for are Best Educational Programme, the Gregory De La Peña-Hall FIH Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Employer of the Year Award, Talent Development Team of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to the Industry, and the Institute of Hospitality’s CEO’s Award.

The Best Educational Programme category seeks to highlight organisations that exhibit exemplary graduate programmes, impactful apprenticeship schemes, and noteworthy student placements. This is significant in encouraging ongoing development within the industry by helping to shape new talent.

Similarly, the Gregory De La Peña-Hall FIH Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Employer of the Year Award aims to honour those employers who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to fostering a workplace characterised by diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). Nominees will need to provide evidence of how their efforts have positively influenced both their organisational culture and the broader hospitality landscape.

The Talent Development Team of the Year category will recognise groups exhibiting a strong commitment to continuing professional development (CPD), which includes supporting individual professionals at various career stages and demonstrating significant positive contributions within their respective organisations.

Additionally, an award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry will be given to a nominated individual who has made substantial impacts on the hospitality, leisure, and tourism sectors. This represents an opportunity to spotlight individuals who have influenced industry practices and policies over the years.

The IoH CEO’s Award, reserved for an exceptional IoH member who has significantly advanced the organisation's mission and objectives, is also part of the awards line-up. This accolade acknowledges the vital role that individual members play in shaping the direction and success of the Institute.

Robert Richardson, Chief Executive of the Institute of Hospitality, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "These awards are the highlight of our calendar year, providing a global platform to celebrate the incredible talent, innovation, and dedication of hospitality professionals and businesses." He further underscored the importance of this event by stating, "I am thrilled that organisations worldwide will once again have the opportunity to showcase their achievements and be recognised for their outstanding contributions."

The nomination period for the 2025 awards will conclude on Monday, 28th April, with the shortlist of finalists to be announced shortly thereafter on Thursday, 1st May. This timeline presents ample opportunity for organisations to put forth their most noteworthy initiatives and achievements for consideration.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming awards, the Institute of Hospitality continues to highlight the essential contributions of its members and the wider hospitality sector, fostering a spirit of recognition that is vital for the ongoing progress of the industry.
