FGIA unveils a revamped website with new member tools and safety resources
The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has unveiled a redesigned website, marking a significant enhancement to its member experience as part of a broader branding initiative. This launch, which has been in development since January 2024, prioritises expanded tools for members and an improved user interface. The new site features enhanced navigation options and a personalised dashboard that allows members to easily access relevant information concerning their participation in councils, committees, and task groups.
Angela Dickson, FGIA's Marketing and Communications Director, expressed excitement about the redesign, stating, “FGIA staff is pleased to share the redesign with members, licensees, and the industry. We appreciate everyone’s input that helped to achieve our goals.” The website’s new features include a revamped staff page to help members recognise their colleagues and improvements to the Events section, set to be further refined ahead of the upcoming FGIA Fall Conference.
With the focus on ease of engagement, the redesigned website includes a personalised member dashboard, which serves as a central hub tailored to individual user preferences. Quick links to educational credentials, the Learning Center, and the FGIA Virtual Library (FGVL) are strategically placed to facilitate member access. Furthermore, an upgraded searchable Verified Components List (VCL) has transitioned from a static PDF to a dynamic online resource, responding directly to feedback from licensees. This new format offers a modern look and enhanced usability, allowing users to search by various criteria, including manufacturer and product type.
In conjunction with the website redesign, FGIA has also launched a new online store offering AAMA and IGMA standards, technical documents, and industry market reports. This update aligns with the strategy to amplify service quality and member engagement through technology. The store features an intuitive search functionality, wish lists, and order history, all designed to streamline the purchasing process for members. Angela Dickson noted that the site’s branding connects seamlessly with FGIA’s broader repositioning efforts following the unification with AAMA and IGMA in 2020, making the site a final touch in aligning all digital assets under the FGIA brand.
Another significant enhancement within the FGIA’s offerings is the introduction of a new online Safety Library. This resource provides comprehensive access to safety materials curated by the FGIA Fenestration Safety Committee. Established in 2020, the committee focuses on delivering essential safety information and education pertinent to the industry. The Safety Library encompasses various important topics, from cut-resistant apparel to mental health issues within construction, and includes resources covering OSHA programs and active shooter training.
As FGIA continues to roll out these expansive digital improvements, members can look forward to a more connected and efficient experience that meets the evolving needs of the fenestration and glazing community. The commitment to ongoing enhancements hints at an encouraging future where technology significantly aids the industry’s operational frameworks.
