Over 40 years experience in health, education, research, revalidation and regulation. Key skills include research, reviews, writing detailed and complex reports including committee and council papers, articles, and book chapters. I am a coach in personal, career and professional development. A good and reliable task and finisher. Currently co-editor of Journal of Public Mental Health. A University academic since 2001 as Senior lecturer/programme manager and Lecturer/Researcher, managing and developing curricula, implementing modules and engaging learning and teaching in various formats including online, seminar and face to face. Nursing practice includes delivering adult and midwifery services in hospital, community, GP practice and primary care. Experience in advising the UK, Kuwaiti and Hong Kong government on the development of health services for children and young people and have worked with the English Department of Health and the Nursing and Midwifery Council in the development of nurse education programmes. Worked in regulation as an Education Adviser to the Nursing and Midwifery Council, reviewing, evaluating, developing and implementing education standards that regulate nursing and midwifery practice in the UK. Doctoral research activity includes exploring the promotion of emotional and psychological wellbeing in children and young people. Confident presenter both in the UK and internationally. The new role is challenging and demanding, leading on national developments in nurse education and continuing professional development across the four countries of the UK.
