About the Organisation
The Left group in the European Parliament (officially, The Left in the European Parliament – GUE/NGL) advocates for a vision of the EU rooted in social equity, sustainability, and international solidarity, challenging prevailing market-oriented policies.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated part-time (50%) social media manager to support the team of MEP Sebastian Everding (The Left in the European Parliament) in Brussels.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Creating engaging content (texts, images, videos, stories) and translating current events, political developments, and the daily work of the MEP into clear and accessible messages for citizens.
- Coordination of social media tasks within the team and support of colleagues to ensure high quality and consistent communication across all channels.
- Close collaboration with policy advisor colleagues to develop topic-specific messages.
- Support in organising events, as well as the associated communication and public relations.
- Exchange and collaboration with relevant stakeholders and partners.
- Supporting the team with general administrative and ad-hoc tasks.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in communication, media work a comparable field.
- Experience in graphic design and video editing, and a willingness to learn these skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- German (native speaker) and fluent English skills.
- Values that correspond to the party's political priorities, especially human rights, animal welfare, and environmental protection.
- Desirable additional skills: Knowledge of EU institutions and political processes.
Required Qualifications
- University degree (at least a Bachelor's) in a relevant subject
