European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) represents 8 million workers across Europe in the energy, water and waste sectors, health and social services and local and national administration. About the role

Secretaries and administrative assistants are essential support professionals who ensure the smooth functioning of an office or organization. They handle a wide variety of administrative, clerical, and organizational tasks, serving as the backbone of daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organization, and follow-up of EPSU activities and events.  This includes preparing with the responsible policy officer(s) meeting documents, contacting participants and speakers, drafting correspondence, writing minutes, etc
  • The capacity to draft short texts and take notes
  • Managing contacts and communication with members, in person, and also including via the EPSU database and website
  • Other tasks as required for the good functioning of the EPSU office

Skills, Competencies & Experience

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience and interest in organising meetings and events
  • Excellent spoken and written English (C2) plus good knowledge (C1) of German, Swedish, or Russian.  Knowledge of other European languages will be an advantage
  • Good IT knowledge (Microsoft 365, Mailchimp, CRM, Zoom)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good analytical, organisational, and time-management skills
  • Interest in social issues and trade union work
