We fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. About the role

As a Programme Lead - Integrated Support, you will guide the development of a new integrated support model, coordinating activity across seven connected work-packages and ensuring progress that is timely, focused, and grounded in real need. As the Programme Lead, you will work across teams to plan, align, and drive programme delivery. You will ensure each area of work is clearly structured, purposeful, and supported, while maintaining strong relationships across the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects that enable the design and implementation of an integrated model of care and support, working closely with the PMO Lead, Programme Director, and Senior Head of Integrated Support and Delivery.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, including the Senior Head of Integrated Service Delivery and the Head of Service Improvement & Transformation, to shape and execute strategic initiatives. Provide insight, analysis, and recommendations that inform long‑term objectives and support the growth and sustainability of the Association’s integrated support approach.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a coherent programme framework that enables effective prioritisation, resourcing, governance, and quality assurance of Integrated Support Model activities, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive programme culture, actively engaging colleagues, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Champion diverse perspectives and co‑production to enhance innovation, service effectiveness, and meaningful impact.
  • Lead programme performance, evaluation, and reporting, working with Project Managers and relevant stakeholders to track progress against agreed metrics, extract learning, and embed continuous improvement across all programme activities.
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end management of projects within the Integrated Support Model, ensuring delivery against defined objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Identify, monitor, and manage programme risks, issues, and interdependencies, escalating where required to maintain momentum, protect delivery, and support informed decision‑making.
  • Design and promote integrated, person‑centred approaches to care and support delivery, ensuring they reflect best practice, lived experience, and the Association’s mission and values.
  • Carry out any other duties aligned to the role’s purpose, ensuring all work contributes to the Association’s overarching mission and core values.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience in leading the design, development, and strategic delivery of a diverse project portfolio, particularly in healthcare, non-profit, or service-driven organisations.
  • Strong capability in ensuring high project standards, timely outcomes, and adherence to budgetary constraints across multidepartmental initiatives. Quality Improvement and Service Improvement Expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement Quality Improvement practices, fostering organisation-wide engagement with service improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to translate best practices and emerging trends into actionable programme frameworks that enhance service delivery and impact. Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, Agile).
  • Experience developing programme frameworks that align with organisational objectives, with a focus on optimising resources, meeting timelines, and ensuring sustainability.
  • Strong resource planning and financial management skills, including budget oversight, cost efficiency, and alignment with fiscal constraints.
  • Proven success in driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across projects, with the ability to identify, develop, and implement enhancements that increase organisational impact
