About the role
We are now hiring a Marketing Manager to own our strategy and delivery, elevate our brand, and utilise data for real‑world growth.
Responsibilities
- Shape an integrated marketing strategy and plan that advances BESA’s organisational goals and amplifies member value.
- Deliver multi‑channel campaigns (social, web, email, print, video) that drive event bookings, member engagement, research impact, and policy reach.
- Lead a major campaign and work with agency partners to raise member visibility and promote BESA’s value to school leaders, showcasing trusted suppliers and building recognition of the BESA mark.
- Strategy & planning: Build a marketing strategy and iterate a rolling 12‑month schedule aligned to BESA priorities; manage budget and report ROI.
- Campaigns & content: Plan and execute cross‑channel campaigns for events, training, member services, and policy initiatives; upholding brand standards.
- Digital & data: Own and optimise our website (SEO), expand social (organic & paid), and turn analytics into action.
- Stakeholder engagement: Partner with Membership, Events, schools, policymakers, and media; present at open days and member events.
- Compliance & best practice: Act as GDPR Data Processor and ensure regulatory compliance across marketing activities.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
- 4+ years in marketing (association membership, education NFP ideal)
- Proven success in delivering integrated strategies and measurable campaigns
- Proficiency in social ads, organic, CMS (WordPress), CRM, EMS (Mailchimp), SEO, GA analytics platforms, Microsoft 365, Canva
- Confidence in using AI for content, automation, and insight generation
- Excellent written and verbal communication; persuasive presenter
- Data‑driven mindset; organised, agile, collaborative, and growth‑oriented
- Bonus: CIM/marketing qualification (or equivalent), agency supplier management, GDPR best practice
- Previous experience in education or with trade associations preferred.
