About the Organisation

European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is the Brussels-based trade association representing the leading online gambling operators established, licensed, and regulated within the EU. EGBA collaborates with national and EU authorities and other stakeholders to foster a well-regulated online gambling market that protects consumers and channels consumer demand towards regulated operators. As part of its commitment to player protection, EGBA also organises the annual European Safer Gambling Week, bringing together industry stakeholders to promote safe and sustainable play.

EGBA members collectively hold 321 online gambling licences – each with its own strict compliance requirements – to offer their services across 21 European countries. Beyond these requirements, members also adhere to EGBA’s industry standards and codes on responsible advertising, anti-money laundering, and player protection. Together, they account for approximately 30% of Europe’s online gambling gross gaming revenue.

About the role

We are seeking a Manager of EU Affairs to strengthen our public affairs capacity in Brussels. Reporting to the Secretary General, you will help shape and deliver EGBA’s EU advocacy strategy, with a particular focus on advertising regulation, digital policy, and consumer protection frameworks.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse EU legislative and regulatory developments affecting the online gambling sector, particularly in areas of advertising, digital services, and consumer protection;
• Develop policy positions, briefings, and advocacy materials for engagement with EU institutions;
• Build and maintain relationships with European Commission officials, MEPs, and their staff;
• Represent EGBA at meetings, conferences, and industry events;
• Coordinate with EGBA members on policy consultations and collective industry responses;
• Support EGBA’s work on responsible advertising standards, including engagement with self-regulatory bodies such as EASA;
• Contribute to EGBA communications, including position papers, press materials, and member updates.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in EU public affairs, ideally within an EU institution (European Commission, European Parliament, or Council) or in a Brussels-based trade association, consultancy, or corporate affairs team;
• Strong understanding of EU legislative processes and the Brussels policy environment;
• Experience or demonstrable interest in advertising regulation, digital policy, or consumer protection is highly desirable. Knowledge of the gambling sector is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional EU languages are an asset.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear, persuasive messaging;
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders;
• Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities;

Required Qualifications

• University degree in law, political science, communications, or a related field.
