International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) is the only global multidisciplinary society focused entirely on pediatric and adolescent cancer. About the role

This is a freelance contract role for a Fundraising & Partnerships Lead/Manager conducted in a remote working arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support SIOP's objectives.
  • The role involves identifying, building, and maintaining relationships with donors, corporate partners, and key stakeholders. 
  • Additional tasks include preparing funding proposals, cultivating donor relationships, managing sponsorship opportunities, and reporting on fundraising activities.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to expand and strengthen partnerships will be an essential part of this role.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in fundraising for non-profit organizations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role in fundraising, partnerships, or resource mobilization. 
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and major gift solicitation
  • Strong strategic planning, partnership development, and sponsorship management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication, proposal writing, and grant-writing abilities
  • Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit sector or healthcare-related fields is an advantage
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently in a virtual work environment
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and CRM tools is a plus
  • Fluency in English (written and oral) and strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to accept a consultancy contract and willingness to work remotely/home-based.
  •  Willingness to travel to SIOP Congresses approx. twice a year.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Structure: SIOP offers a competitive package with a balance of stability and performance incentives:
  • Base Retainer: €60,000 - €64,000 per year (depending on experience), reflecting an 80–100% FTE commitment.
  • Performance Bonuses: Up to €16,000 - €20,000 annually, tied to clearly defined fundraising milestones (grant submissions, new partnerships secured, donor acquisition targets).
  • Annual Performance Bonus: If the fundraiser exceeds the annual fundraising target by 20%, they are eligible for an additional €3,000 - €4,000 bonus.
