Royal Entomological Society launches Big Give Earth Raise campaign for insects

The Royal Entomological Society launched its Big Give Earth Raise 2026 campaign on World Earth Day, 22 April. The match-funding initiative is designed to grow Insect Week 2026, the Society's flagship public engagement event.

Donations to the campaign are matched pound for pound through the Big Give's Earth Raise window, expanding the budget available to organisers and partner groups for activities, resources and outreach across the UK. The Society uses Insect Week to inspire learners of all ages to engage with insect science and the role insects play in ecosystems and food systems.

The campaign sits within a wider programme of work that uses media, community partnerships, and school resources to widen public understanding of entomology. The Big Give window opens at the moment when public awareness of biodiversity issues is at its annual peak.
