RICS Launches 2026 Wales Manifesto Ahead of Senedd Election

RICS calls on the next Welsh Government to use the built and natural environment to drive economic growth.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has launched its 2026 Wales manifesto ahead of the Senedd election, calling on the incoming Welsh Government to use the built and natural environment as a driver of economic growth and business confidence across Wales.

Published as "Manifesto RICS Cymru 2026," the document sets out a series of policy recommendations for the incoming Welsh administration covering housing, infrastructure, land use, planning, and the valuation of the natural environment. RICS argues that government decisions on these issues will be critical to delivering prosperity and improving living standards in Wales over the coming Senedd term.

The manifesto sits within RICS's broader engagement with the 2026 devolved elections in both Wales and Scotland, where the institution has been developing policy positions and engaging with political parties ahead of polling day. RICS CEO Justin Young described this period as one focused on building a more influential and impactful profession, and the Wales manifesto as a practical expression of how RICS's expertise can contribute directly to policy outcomes.

Further information on RICS Cymru's election engagement, including the full manifesto, is available on the RICS website.
