EFCE Launches Informal Dialogue Series with Its Members

European Federation of Chemical Engineering opens a direct line between its president and the engineering community.

The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) has introduced a new engagement initiative, "Virtual Coffee with your EFCE President," offering members an informal and direct channel for discussion and idea sharing with federation leadership. The first session took place on 19 March 2026.

The format is deliberately light, designed to complement the federation's more structured programmes and provide a low-barrier route for members and community participants to raise issues, exchange views, and engage with the EFCE presidency. Further sessions are planned on a regular basis, and details on how to join are published on the EFCE website.

The initiative reflects a broader effort by the EFCE to strengthen connections across its network of member societies. Also in March, the federation's Early Career Section contributed to the professional community through a co-authored article in The Chemical Engineer magazine, written by current and former chairs of the section, exploring the future of early-career chemical engineering across Europe.

Earlier in March, the EFCE ran a series of nine Spotlight Talks webinars across nine days, organised by eleven of its working parties and sections, with recordings to be made available on the EFCE YouTube channel. Full details of the new engagement initiative are available on the website.
