Securing & increasing member revenue with a membership re-structuring & development

How the Association of Business Recovery Professionals developed their membership offering, expanded it, and created membership packages and policies that raised their revenue, increased engagement and provided opportunity for up-selling.

Richard joined JMW in 2009 and specialises in both corporate and personal insolvency (including administrations, receiverships, creditors voluntary/compulsory/provisional/members voluntary liquidations, directors' disqualification and related matters). He advises a wide variety of clients including public and private companies, insolvency practitioners, secured lenders/invoice discounters and accountants as well as private individuals. He has worked on a number of notable/high profile matters including acting for the administrators of the Allsports group of companies, acting for the then purchasers of the Texstyle World chain of home improvement stores in Scotland out of administration and acting for the administrators of Blackpool Automotive Limited (formerly TVR Engineering). Whilst at JMW, Richard has acted for Richer Sounds on the acquisition of certain assets from the administrators of Empire Direct, for N Brown Group plc on the acquisition out of administration of the business and assets of High and Mighty and for the joint administrators of Branton Bridge Solicitors, a Manchester-based personal injury practice. Richard has spoken at a number of client conferences and seminars as well as at R3 events and courses. He has chaired a series of personal insolvency annual conferences in Manchester as well as chairing the firm's first ever full conference event in Manchester and external insolvency conferences in London and Manchester. Richard is a member of the Insolvency Lawyers Association and a fellow of R3 (the Association of Business Recovery Professionals). He was the Regional Chair for R3 in the North West for three years from the start of 2014 to the end of 2016 and is currently Chair of R3's national Membership Committee as well as being a regional member of R3’s national council. Richard was ranked in the Power 100, the independent index of the 100 most influential people in the UK insolvency industry compiled by Insolvency Today Magazine. Legal directory Chambers and Partners 2014 commented that Richard Wolff ‘has a solid reputation in the market. Sources say he is "very, very competent" and "technically very able". His strong links with the R3 association demonstrate his considerable knowledge of the field'. Richard was noted in Chambers 2015 for his 'thorough approach to all matters' and in Chambers and Partners 2016 as having "a particularly deep understanding of insolvency situations in the retail sector.” In the 2019 Legal 500 rankings, Richard was described as “impressive and very knowledgeable” and in the 2020 edition of the Legal 500, Richard is again named as a Leading individual in his practice area and it was commented that he “always delivers an excellent service”.
