Production Guild Appoints Nicky Ball as Director of Membership Services
Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) has appointed Nicky Ball as its new Director of Membership Services, bringing over 25 years of experience in crewing, training, and supporting freelance production talent across the United Kingdom.
Ball joins from ScreenSkills, where she spent more than eight years in the High-End TV Skills fund delivery team. In her most recent role as Head of HETV Mid-Level Career Progression, she led on the delivery of industry placements to address grade shortages — including electrical trainees, accounts industry transfers, and access coordinators — and oversaw the Make a Move professional development programme, which supported freelance crew stepping up to senior roles.
Yorkshire-based Ball is one of two senior members of staff the Guild has now based outside of London, reflecting the organisation's explicit commitment to representing talent from all corners of the United Kingdom. Her appointment coincides with a further strategic shift: from 1 April 2026, the Guild's core team will transition to a fully remote model of working, moving away from its base at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. The change is designed to enable closer collaboration with production centres and crew nationwide.
Kaye Elliott, Production Guild CEO, said: "She brings a wealth of experience, talent and knowledge, alongside a clear passion for HETV, film and screen production. It's also a huge statement for the Guild to hire another senior member of staff based in the North of England, as part of our commitment to ensure we best represent talent across the UK."
Ball added: "Being based regionally, I really understand how the Guild can be a welcome benefit to members and hirers working across the UK.
