PMI launches The Shift Code podcast to explore project success
The Project Management Institute (PMI) has unveiled a new initiative, ‘The Shift Code podcast’, aimed at delving into the crucial influence of project success on organisational and digital transformation. The podcast, hosted by PMI President and CEO Pierre Le Manh, promises to feature insightful dialogues with C-suite executives across various sectors, including aerospace, technology, and agriculture, among others.
In its inaugural season, the podcast will kick off with an interview featuring Steve Altemus, the CEO of Intuitive Machines, a company poised to make history by being the first commercial entity to soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon in February 2024. Recently, Intuitive Machines successfully launched its IM-2 lunar lander, named Athena, furthering its commitment to delivering NASA technology to lunar exploration.
During his conversation on the podcast, Altemus elaborates on significant advancements within the aerospace sector and highlights the instrumental role of project management in fostering rapid progress in space exploration. He noted, “What we’ve tried to do is find lean and affordable ways to work. We’ve had a set of tenets that said, ‘set arbitrary and inflexible milestones and meet those to drive the team toward a resolution of problems.”
In addition to Altemus’ insights, Le Manh offered a perspective on the challenges that foster innovation, stating, “Innovation comes out of overly constrained budgets, overly constrained schedules, and a very difficult technical challenge. Forced innovation is what happens when you take on that insurmountable challenge.”
Listeners of ‘The Shift Code podcast’ can expect to gain valuable knowledge into leadership strategies and the methodologies that can lead to consistently successful project outcomes.
