International Cleaning Week 2025 set to honour frontline cleaning professionals
From March 23 to March 29, 2025, the International Cleaning Week will take place, hosted by the ISSA, a leading worldwide association in the cleaning industry. This annual event is designed to honour the dedication of frontline cleaning professionals and highlight the critical importance of cleanliness in public health and economic well-being. For five consecutive years, ISSA has spearheaded this initiative, distinctly focused on empowering professionals within the cleaning sector around the globe.
This year promises to introduce enhanced engagement opportunities, reflecting the industry's pivotal role in societal health and its economic contributions. Among these initiatives is the inaugural "Spotless Spaces Competition", an exclusive offering for ISSA members aimed at spotlighting exceptional cleaning environments. Participating teams will have the opportunity to present their achievements on a global platform, with winners slated to be announced on the Wednesday of the week-long celebration.
In conjunction with the competition, ISSA has developed a Comprehensive Partnership Toolkit, designed to support organisations in optimising their involvement in International Cleaning Week. This resource includes branded graphics, prewritten social media content, and e-newsletter templates, facilitating effective communication and promotion of the event's significance.
John Barrett, Executive Director of ISSA, commented on the event’s potential impact, stating, “International Cleaning Week 2025 represents a transformative moment for our industry. The new Spotless Spaces Competition, enhanced partnership toolkit, and comprehensive programming provide significant opportunities for our industry to demonstrate its value and impact.” His remarks underline the importance of the week not only as a celebration but also as an opportunity for professional development and visibility in the industry.
The culmination of International Cleaning Week will take place during the Clean Advocacy Summit scheduled for March 31 to April 1 in Washington, D.C. This event acts as a pivotal Capitol Hill fly-in, providing attendees with valuable advocacy training and direct access to congressional delegations. It represents a unique platform for industry professionals to engage with policymakers and promote the interests of the cleaning and facility solutions sector.
ISSA encourages all members to participate and highlights the tools available to maximise engagement. For more information on International Cleaning Week, including access to the partnership toolkit, stakeholders can visit the official ISSA website.
Social media engagement will also play a critical role during this week; participants are invited to connect with ISSA on platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and Instagram, using the hashtag #ICW to raise awareness and share in the celebration. This online presence will further enhance the visibility of the cleaning industry's efforts and contributions within both local and international contexts.
Engagements like International Cleaning Week not only foster a sense of community within the industry but also serve to elevate the status of cleaning professionals as essential contributors to health and safety in society.
