FERMA and WBCSD launch Open Sesame climate resilience initiative
The Federation of European Risk Management Associations and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development launched the Open Sesame initiative on 6 May 2026.Open Sesame sets out to give risk managers and sustainability professionals a shared toolkit for climate resilience. The initial release covered physical risk scenarios, transition risk pathways and a common reporting framework that boards can use to compare exposures across geographies.
FERMA brings together 23 national risk management associations across Europe. The Federation said Open Sesame would feed directly into its forthcoming research and into the FERMA Forum agenda. WBCSD contributed its corporate sustainability network and existing climate data work.
