Euroanaesthesia 2016 - Providing an international platform
Success achieved
Communicating, collaborating and networking with representatives of a large international audience.
Tools & Systems
- Das Terminal - to offer a new dimension for to our traditional poster displays. Using their tablet and corresponding app we could create truly interactive e-poster presentations.
Introduction
Euroanaesthesia is an international platform for presenting original unpublished data and sharing ideas for innovation in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, intensive care, emergency medicine and pain treatment as well as disseminating evidence-based knowledge of primary clinical relevance.
Discovery
During the previous year’s conference surveys were carried out aimed at defining how satisfied our delegates were with the tools available to them during our conference. Additionally, how and what may be done differently for them to benefit the most from their conference experience.
Objectives
- Review innovative techniques and scientific advances in the field of anaesthesiology and its subspecialties
- Review the latest data and emerging trends from studies in clinical and experimental research
- Enhance their knowledge of evidence-based approaches to the practice of anaesthesiology
- Gain new knowledge on emerging diagnostic and risk-assessment strategies
- Enhance their practical knowledge and skills by educational activities, including hands-on training and courses
- Learn about new Guidelines
- Gain exposure to new developments in drugs and new cutting-edge technology in the field of pharmaceutical research and medical technology through visiting the Euroanaesthesia Exhibition
- Communicate, collaborate and network with representatives of a large international audience – medical professionals, national anaesthesiology societies and medical industry
- Meet the experts in the field
Innovation
As for the e posters - our intention was for every speaker to have the opportunity to present their research to their peers. One of the novelties of the terminals we deployed was that speakers easily switched between one poster and the next meaning less time was spent on moving around in the poster area to locate the appropriate poster or speaker of interest. As a direct consequence, audience retention remained high throughout the presentation period, and each delegate could receive the same amount of attention as the next.
