EFIM Opens 2026 Clinical Research Grant for Internal Medicine

EFIM launches 2026 grant programme to drive collaborative clinical research across its national member societies.

The European Federation of Internal Medicine (EFIM) has launched its 2026 Clinical Research Grant programme, offering funding to support innovative and collaborative clinical research in internal medicine across its network of member societies.

Grants are aimed at projects that advance patient care, promote evidence-based practice and strengthen academic connections between EFIM's ordinary and associate national member societies. Eligible projects are required to involve partners from more than one member society, with the programme specifically designed to encourage cross-border collaboration within the European internal medicine community.

EFIM, which represents 48 national societies of internal medicine and more than 65,000 internists across Europe, describes strengthening research capacity as one of the central pillars of its mission alongside education and the advancement of the specialty. The 2026 grant round builds on previous cycles of the programme, which have supported a range of multicentre research initiatives across the federation's membership.

Applications are open and full details of eligibility criteria, funding levels and the submission process are available on the EFIM website.
