CIWEM appoints Emma Causer as Chief Executive
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, the London-based professional body for water and environmental professionals, has appointed Emma Causer as its new chief executive.
Causer arrives from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, where she was director of members and clients. She brings more than 25 years in commercial and subscription businesses, with earlier roles at BT and BSkyB.
The move pairs membership experience from one chartered institution with commercial leadership for another. CIWEM has framed the appointment around growing and modernising what it offers members.
For other institutes, the hire is a pointer to where membership bodies are finding leadership talent. A director of membership at one chartered body stepping up to lead another shows how transferable member growth and subscription skills have become across the sector.
